RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

Hard work, dedication and self motivation and support of Parents & family.

How much time do you think one requires for effective preparation for this examination ?

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

Time depends upon individual if any person is engaged in job. He may take much time comparing to other candidates.

 

NCEI:  

What prompted you to choose civil services as your career ? Do you remembers any significant incident of your life that motivated you to go for a career in the civil services ?

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

Social Prestige and broader field of service attached with this service.

What is your impression of the interview Board ?

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

 

My interview was in IMG Khan's board. It was a stress interview. Max questions were opinion based. While in UPPSC, I was interview by Dr. Somesh Yadav Board.

 

NCEI:  

How did your parents, other family members and friends contribute to your success ?

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

Family support is needed for this type of exam. as this exams need more time.

 

NCEI:  

Had you not been selected in the Civil Services Examination, what other career would you have opted for?

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

I was not thinking of any other career.

How would you visualize your success ?

History and Public Administration.

What do you think about implementation of negative marking in ICS exam ? Has this made regular question practice inevitable ?

What is your message for the future aspirants ?

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

Be sincere in your approach. Self dedication and continuous study is only the key to success. There is shortcut in way of success.

What was your Biggest mistake during preparation of these exams.

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

In early days of my preparation I could not study  the standard books. I went for guides.

 

NCEI:  

To whom would you live to give the credit for your success ?

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

To God, my parents, my wife, daughters and friends.

Your success strategy for -

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

1. Prelims :-

Two or three times revision of whole syllabus. and fellow the standard books.

 

2. Mains :-

Two or three times revision of whole syllabus. and fellow the standard books.

 

3. Personality test/interview :-

I did not mock interviews. Personality can’t be improved within a short span of time. So continuous and persistent effort is needed. Self confidence with cheerfulness is a key for interview.

 

 

NCEI:  

Were you confident of your success. How did you react to the success news ?

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

I was confident of my UPPPS-07 result but not of UPSC (as paper of UPSC was very tough). So I has very happy after being selected in both.

 

NCEI:  

Before knowing your result, what was your perception about toppers ?

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

I was considering them different from me. As being in defense and father of daughters, if I can do up to this much so I consider myself also among them before result also.

 

NCEI:  

In how many attempts have you achieved this success ? How do you visualize your performance in previous attempts. What were you service preferences.

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

4th attempt. In 2007 also, I appeared for interview but could not get final selection. IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS.

 

NCEI:  

What was your strategy for time management during preparation as well as during examination.

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

Being in defense force, I did not get much time. So I did not go for vast study. I mainly relied an standard books and revision of whole syllabus before exams.

 

NCEI:  

Please list resources you utilized for C. S. preparation ?

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

I did not take coaching for C.S. I am serving in Indian Air Force. The duty schedule is very awkward. Being a family man, it is very difficult to join coaching classes. So I relied on standard and my consistent study.

What is importance of medium of expression in these exams.

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

English.

 

NCEI:  

In your opinion, what is value of regular self evaluation as an important ingredient of any strategic plan for success in civil services ?

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

It helps a candidate in finding out the weakness of his writing skill and later on he will try to improve his writing.

 

NCEI:  

How do you visualize the role of www.nceiindia.com as a platform of Evaluation and Interaction ?

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

It provides a good forum for interaction among the candidates.

What is your opinion about the concept behind www.nceiindia.com?

How do you look upon the availability of online evaluation facility for Hindi medium students also ?

 

RAJESH KUMAR  GUPTA:  

Candidates lag behind in those examinations due to lack of writing skills. This site provides a good facility for online evaluation to know the weakness of candidates.
